Tuscumbia Man Arrested for Drugs in Tishomingo

On May 12, 2019, Narcotic Investigators for the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a traffic stop on CR 992 for Careless Driving.  During the course of the traffic stop, investigators learned that the driver had a suspended driver license and was then placed under arrest.  Investigators then observed the passenger in the vehicle, attempt to hide something between the passenger side and the center console.  When investigators checked, a drug pipe and a set of scales were found.  The investigators then spoke with the passenger and the driver and explained to them why they were being arrested.  At this time, the passenger turned over a bag of alleged METHAMPHETAMINE that he claimed as his.  Both the driver and the passenger were then transported to the Tishomingo County Jail.

ANTHONY ROBERT SMITH, 27-year-old, white male, of 688 Carter Drive Tuscumbia, Alabama was officially charged with FELONY POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (METHAMPHETAMINE).  SMITH’s bond was set by the Tishomingo County Justice Court at $5,000.
