Red Bay Man Charged with "Compelling Street Gang Membership"
A Red Bay man has been charged in Franklin County with numerous crimes, including Compelling Street Gang Membership. Authorities say Paul Louis Porter Jr. was arrested on Tuesday and charged with:
* COMPELLING STREET GANG MEMBERSHIP
* CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE CRIME
* DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Compelling Street Gang Membership is a felony and involves encourageing others to commit a serious crime, such as assault or rape, in order to win membership in a gang.
The 23 year old Porter, who goes by the name PJ, states on social media that he's a graduate of Itawamba High School. He remains in the Franklin County Detention Center as of Wednesday morning.
