New Arrests: The Revolving Door that is Gerald Winston Surratt Jr.
There may be Shoals felons with longer RAP sheets than Gerald Winston Surratt Jr., but they are few and far between. Yet for all his arrests, Surratt has never gone to prison.
On February 6th, Surratt was arrested for Second Degree Bail Jumping and 12 counts of Failure to Appear (the latter being misdemeanors). The perennial bad boy remained in jail three days before bonding out.
At this time, Surratt is awaiting trial on theft charges. Since 2010, the Florence resident has been arrested at least 28 times; this number is times taken into custody, not the huge number of charges. Obviously, this is an ongoing story, and PNS will update when more information is forthcoming.
