Leoma Man Leads Police on 103 mph Chase
On Sunday night, Leoma police were notified of a motorist driving at excessive speeds traveling south on Highway 43. As the driver realized authorities were in pursuit, he picked up speed, eventually reaching at least 103 mph.
After a convoluted chase, Leoma police aided by Lawrence County deputies were able to cut off Elijah Martin when he entered White Road. Martin still refused to surrender, forcing officers to drag him from the vehicle.
The Leoma man is currently facing over 50 counts of Reckless Endangerment, as well as other charges. If you were a victim of Martin during this chase, Leoma officials want you to contact them at 931-853-6797. Elijah Martin remains in the Lawrence County Jail at this time.
