Florence Road Rage Leads to Shooting of Colbert Woman

This morning Florence Police Department received a call of a female that had been shot and was being transported to ECM by a privately owned vehicle. Once at ECM officers spoke to the boyfriend of the victim. He stated that he was driving north on Chisholm Rd. His girlfriend was with him in the front passenger seat. Then, he reports someone in a dark colored Chevrolet Cruze confronted them at the traffic light at Cox Creek Parkway and Chisholm Road. They continued on Chisholm Rd and the Chevrolet continued to drive aggressive following them. During what appears to be a road rage incident, the vehicles circled the area until they came to Malone Circle, just off of Chisholm Rd. At this point, someone in the Chevy Cruze got out of the vehicle and began shooting at them. One of the shots fired entered the vehicle hitting the victim in her neck. The truck was also hit multiple times during the shooting.

The victim is Cassie Sartain, a dispatcher for Colbert County 911 center. She was transported to Huntsville Hospital and was in stable condition as of this morning.

This is an ongoing investigation and we are continuing to search for the offenders. If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Detective Bill White at 256-760-6595.
