CODY CARMACK OF TUSCUMBIA ALA CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY AND NEGLECT
Colbert County, Alabama Animal Cruelty Investigator Anthony Wilbanks received a call in regard to two dogs chained in the back yard at the residence of William Cody Carmack; they appeared to be starved. Upon arriving at 1139 Hawk Pride Homestead, Tuscumbia, Alabama, he found a small brindle/white dog and a small white dog. Both on a body scale of 1-5, with one being the worst, in a one condition. Meaning extremely malnourished. They were standing in raw sewage, no signs of food and a water pail with water that had turned green.
The Dogs were seized immediately and transported to Veternarian Dr. Harris. Upon examination he declared their body condition to be a 1 and in a state of extreme malnourishment. After treatment they were transported to the shelter where they are now confined to clean kennels, given fresh water and being fed a diet that helps their bodies regain good health.
A report was filed with the District Attorney’s office and warrants issued. Due to their extreme malnourished condition the District Attorney has the option of upgrading the charges to Aggravated Cruelty which places the case before the grand jury. If indicted, William Cody Carmack, age 26, is subject to a prison sentence and a higher fine.
Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson had the warrants served immediately and Carmack was transported to the Colbert County detention facility. He has now bonded out.
It is not cowardly or weak to ask for help, but it is the Epitome of cowardly and weak to treat and or neglect an animal as I observed in these pictures. It's obvious it wasn't lack of resources (as he immediately came up with bond money)so we can only surmise that it was neglect or meanness. I hope that you live alone (not because I would like you to be alone) because I would hate to think that someone else was as an accomplice.SURRENDER your animals to the proper authorities (shelter, adoption agency ect.)if you can't take care of them.
Thank you, Carl for never giving up.
